What is NeoLife Bio-Tone?
An amino acid supplement combining three free-form amino acids — L-arginine, L-ornithine and L-tyrosine — with choline and inositol. It is 120 tablets, taken as four tablets in the evening. NeoLife positions it within its sport range.
It is a straightforward, single-purpose amino acid formula. The label is specific about how it is meant to be taken, which is unusual and worth noting: four tablets at bedtime, on an empty stomach.
What is in each daily serving
From the UK nutrition information on the pack — per four tablets, the recommended daily intake.
| Per 4 tablets | Amount |
|---|---|
| L-arginine | 744 mg1 |
| L-ornithine | 345 mg1 |
| L-tyrosine | 300 mg1 |
| Inositol | 140 mg1 |
| Choline | 58 mg1 |
Arginine and ornithine are related amino acids; tyrosine is a third; choline and inositol are vitamin-like compounds often grouped with the B vitamins. None of these has a Nutrient Reference Value, so no %NRV is shown.1
What we can and cannot claim
This matters, so we will be direct. None of the ingredients in Bio-Tone carry authorised health claims in Great Britain at the amounts present. The individual amino acids — arginine, ornithine, tyrosine — have no authorised claims. Choline has some authorised claims, but only where a serving provides at least 82.5 mg; Bio-Tone provides 58 mg per daily dose, below that threshold, so those claims do not apply either.1
You may find arginine/ornithine formulas of this kind promoted online with claims about muscle, recovery or hormones. Those claims are not authorised in Great Britain, and we do not make them. What we can tell you is exactly which amino acids are in the tablet and in what amount. Nothing on this page is intended to diagnose, prevent, treat or cure any condition, and a food supplement is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
How to take it
Four tablets in the evening, at bedtime. For the reason NeoLife formulates it this way, the label directs taking it on an empty stomach — about three hours after a meal. Amino acids compete with the protein in food for absorption, which is the usual rationale for an empty-stomach, away-from-meals instruction like this one.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store somewhere cool and dry, out of reach of children. 120 tablets at four a day is a one-month supply, about £1.87 a day at £56.00.
Suitability and allergens
No allergens are declared on the UK ingredient list, and no animal-derived ingredients are listed — it is free-form amino acids with dicalcium phosphate and standard tabletting agents. There are no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners.
Because it delivers concentrated free-form amino acids, this is one to be particularly careful with if you have a medical condition affecting protein or amino-acid metabolism, or take related medication. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescribed medication or under medical care, speak to your GP or pharmacist before starting any new supplement.

What to compare when buying an amino acid supplement
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Which amino acids, and how much | Amino acid formulas vary widely. This one names three — arginine 744 mg, ornithine 345 mg, tyrosine 300 mg per daily dose — plus choline and inositol.1 |
| Free-form or protein-bound | These are free-form amino acids, which is why the label directs taking them away from food. |
| Health claims on the page | These amino acids have no authorised GB health claims. A seller making muscle or hormone claims for them is overstating what is permitted. |
| How it is meant to be taken | This is a bedtime, empty-stomach formula — not an all-day one. That affects whether it fits your routine. |
| Cost per day | Four tablets a day — about £1.87 a day here. |
