What pregnancy changes about fish
DHA for your baby

The NHS limits oily fish in pregnancy
Pregnant women are advised to have no more than two portions of oily fish a week, because of pollutants. If you don’t like fish, or you’re keeping to that limit, a screened fish oil is another way to get DHA.
Screened for over 200 contaminants
Including PCBs, pesticides and heavy metals such as mercury and lead. Every batch is tested for purity and potency.
Body oil, not liver oil
Omega-3 Plus is made from anchovy, mackerel, sardine, tuna and salmon oil. There is no fish-liver oil and no added vitamin A in its ingredients. The NHS advises against fish-liver oil supplements in pregnancy.
Check your pregnancy vitamin
See whether your pregnancy multivitamin lists DHA. Keep taking folic acid and vitamin D as the NHS advises; Omega-3 Plus doesn’t replace them.
Talk to your midwife, GP or pharmacist before taking any supplement in pregnancy, especially if you take other medicines. Take three capsules a day, as the label says, and don’t exceed it.
How much oily fish did you eat in the last 7 days?
Salmon, mackerel, sardines, trout, herring or pilchards. Tinned counts.
